What are Noise Barriers?
Noise barriers are solid obstructions built between a highway and the homes along its sides. They do not completely block all noise. They only reduce overall noise levels. Effective noise barriers typically reduce noise levels by 5 to 10 decibels (dB), cutting the loudness of traffic noise by as much as one half. For example, a barrier which achieves a 10-dB reduction can reduce the sound level of a typical tractor trailer passing-by to that of an automobile.

Installation of Polycarbonate or Cast Acrylic Sound Barrier
Polycarbonate sheets can be installed on frames of Aluminium, Steel, Plastic Profiles, Wood or similar solid materials. Polycarbonate Solid Glazing material is virtually unbreakable and has the freedom of Drilling, Cutting and Milling, using the right Tools. If Acrylic sheet is recommended to be used as the Barrier, only Cast Acrylic sheet should be used since normal Extruded sheet can break in due course of time. In case of using sealants along with Polycarbonate or Acrylic Sheet, only specifically recommended ones(water based) are to be used. Appropriate care is to be taken while drilling and fixing these Sheets to avoid stress cracking.
